March Bee Hive Photo Contest Winner!

At first glance this photo was simply a nice photo, but once you look under the surface, this photo IS Bee Hive Homes. This little guy was an accountant who moved to Albuquerque from Minnesota. As a result of his dementia he was always wanting to leave the facility to go to meetings. So Bev Thorsgaard, Bee Hive Homes Caregiver, decided that she could do something exceptional. Bev set up a desk, complete with all the tools he would need for his trade. Not only that, she then saved receipts and gave this resident a job doing books for a company. After that he was happy and content to sit at his desk and do his job day after day.

Residential Assisted Living Homes

The Difference in Residential Assisted Living Homes

Bee Hive Homes offers assisted living care in a residential setting.  Residential assisted living homes offer many advantages over institutional care or larger facilities.  The first and most notable difference in residential assisted living homes is the staff to resident ratios.  In the larger facilities there are many times when one staff member may be left to care for as many as 25 residents.  At Bee Hive Homes you will find staff-to-resident ratios are often less than 7 to 1.

Another wonderful advantage is the ability for caregivers to truly get to know each resident personally.  When caregivers have the opportunity to know those they care for, the level of personal care can be more directly related to those items that are needed by the resident.   This personal care is highlighted in the Redefining Care Video Series that has been released by Bee Hive Homes.  Additionally, the residential assisted living homes tend to offer an environment that allows the residents getting to know one another like family.  These personal or “family” relationships that residents build are a large part of what gives each Bee Hive Home a true home-like environment.

Bee Hive Homes is certainly an industry leader in residential assisted living homes.  Now in the 25th year of operation, Bee Hive Homes assisted living homes are located in 12 states across the country and the care is offered in over 140 assisted living homes.  If you would like more information on residential assisted living care please contact a Bee Hive Home in your area.  Bee Hive Homes are always open for tours and our staff members are always willing to take time to show you around.   We look forward to helping you explore and discover all of the assisted living options that are available to you and your loved ones.

Bee Hive Homes assisted living is very pleased to continue the Redefining Care Video Series.  This series is focused on showing that there in a vast difference in how different companies and service providers view “care”.  At Bee Hive Homes we believe that care should be tailored to meet the needs of the individual as opposed to the needs of a large group.  We take pride in a very direct focus on our residents.  In fact, this is the very reason the Bee Hive Home business model is about caring for fewer residents as opposed to the large institutional care.  We firmly believe the staff to resident ratios are a great representation of how much individual assisted living care an individual resident receives.  We would invite you to visit our Redefining Care page to see our idea of just how individual care can be.

We are certainly proud to have over 140 assisted living home locations and options across the United States.  We are also very proud to provide assisted living Wyoming style.  After all, we believe care varies from individual to individual and certainly from area to area.  We would invite each of you to tour an assisted living home in Wyoming.  Our staff is always willing to schedule time to introduce others to the Bee Hive Homes assisted living family.

Assisted Living Special Moments

Just because we continue to get older does not mean that we have fewer reasons to celebrate holidays and special events.  In fact, it is quite the contrary.  There is no better way to show your appreciation for our assisted living residents than by magnifying the attention shown to yet another year or one more Christmas.  At the Bee Hive Homes of Meridian, Idaho these special occasions are something that are celebrated throughout the year.  It is yet another reason to bring the Bee Hive family together for some celebration and excitement.

What does it mean to a resident who has lived through so much throughout their lifetime to have yet another opportunity to welcome in another year?  The assisted living staff at Bee Hive Homes are trained to understand the impact that this can have on the happiness and end of life care for the residents they serve.  However, you will quickly find that it is not the training or a job that makes these caregivers celebrate with the residents.  It is simply the love that they have for one another that brings them together for this occasion and honestly, any occasion that may give them another reason to have fun.

Bee Hive Homes assisted living is dedicated to making our residents happy.  It has been our focus from that beginning that residents need more one-on-one time with caregivers so their individual care needs can be meant.  You may have heard us say it before but care in not a one-size fits all idea.  Care is and always will be the focus of what we strive for at Bee Hive Homes.  We welcome you to tour any of our Bee Hive Homes assisted living facilities.  We have over 140 homes across the country and we would certainly love to show you the Bee Hive Homes assisted living difference.

Star, Idaho NEW Assisted Living Home

Bee Hive Homes of Star assisted living has officially opened the doors.  This fabulous assisted living home is set in the quiet community of Star, Idaho.  Owner Joe White brings a wonderful staff with a focus on providing a very high quality of personal assisted living care to the community of Star.  Twayne Walker, Owner of Bee Hive Homes says, “Just because you are from a small community does not mean there should be less demand set on providing superior elderly care options.  To many times the smaller community means fewer options, which often times means a lesser quality list of options as well.”

Star, Idaho is about 15 miles outside the city of Boise, Idaho and a neighbor to the larger communities of Meridian and Eagle.  Assisted living options in Star, Idaho often need to include facilities that are actually in these neighboring communities.  We have solved this problem by bringing Bee Hive Homes assisted living care to Star, Idaho.  Bee Hive Homes offers assisted living services to residents throughout the country.  Our services are focused around serving individuals and not large groups.  Mr. Walker states, “We honestly feel that care is not one size fits all.  Care must be tailored to meet the needs of the person you are serving.”  Bee Hive Homes has highlighted this approach to care in a new video series we call Redefining Care.

With the opening of the Bee Hive Homes of Star, residents in this area will be provided with an option for a very high level of personal care service.  Our home is a 16 bedroom home which allow for our staff to truly get to know and love the residents on a very personal level.  We take pride in the fact that we are a family.  We care for one another like family, play as a family, share as a family, and live as a family.  If you have more questions or would like information on the Bee Hive Homes of Star please contact us now.
