This event was indeed a ribbon cutting on the opening of the newest assisted living home in Meridian, Idaho. However, it was much more than just that. This was the opening of a building that will meet a need in the Treasure Valley (Meridian and the surrounding areas). The event captured the attention of the local media and the Idaho Division of Veterans Services.

The event was featured on the both ABC and NBC, as well as a 15 minute radio interview on the local Kevin Miller Show.

Bee Hive Veterans Assisted Living Home is now open. Call 208-901-8422 for tour availability and information.

The Difference in Residential Assisted Living Homes

Bee Hive Homes offers assisted living care in a residential setting. Residential assisted living homes offer many advantages over institutional care or larger facilities. The first and most notable difference in residential assisted living homes is the staff to resident ratios. In the larger facilities there are many times when one staff member may be left to care for as many as 25 residents. At Bee Hive Homes you will find staff-to-resident ratios are often less than 7 to 1.

Another wonderful advantage is the ability for caregivers to truly get to know each resident personally. When caregivers have the opportunity to know those they care for, the level of personal care can be more directly related to those items that are needed by the resident. This personal care is highlighted in the Redefining Care Video Series that has been released by Bee Hive Homes. Additionally, the residential assisted living homes tend to offer an environment that allows the residents getting to know one another like family. These personal or “family” relationships that residents build are a large part of what gives each Bee Hive Home a true home-like environment.

Bee Hive Homes is certainly an industry leader in residential assisted living homes. Now in the 25th year of operation, Bee Hive Homes assisted living homes are located in 12 states across the country and the care is offered in over 140 assisted living homes. If you would like more information on residential assisted living care please contact a Bee Hive Home in your area. Bee Hive Homes are always open for tours and our staff members are always willing to take time to show you around. We look forward to helping you explore and discover all of the assisted living options that are available to you and your loved ones.

There are 6 different Bee Hive Homes locations in the wonderful state of Wyoming. We have Bee Hive Homes located in Buffalo, Cody, Evanston, Gillette , Sheridan and Worland. All of these locations provide the very best in assisted living care to those in need. At the same time all of our Wyoming assisted living locations have years of experience and the backing of a national company with over 25 years of assisted living service.

Watch this video on YouTube.

Bee Hive Homes assisted living is very pleased to continue the Redefining Care Video Series. This series is focused on showing that there in a vast difference in how different companies and service providers view “care”. At Bee Hive Homes we believe that care should be tailored to meet the needs of the individual as opposed to the needs of a large group. We take pride in a very direct focus on our residents. In fact, this is the very reason the Bee Hive Home business model is about caring for fewer residents as opposed to the large institutional care. We firmly believe the staff to resident ratios are a great representation of how much individual assisted living care an individual resident receives. We would invite you to visit our Redefining Care page to see our idea of just how individual care can be.

We are certainly proud to have over 140 assisted living home locations and options across the United States. We are also very proud to provide assisted living Wyoming style. After all, we believe care varies from individual to individual and certainly from area to area. We would invite each of you to tour an assisted living home in Wyoming. Our staff is always willing to schedule time to introduce others to the Bee Hive Homes assisted living family.

Just because we continue to get older does not mean that we have fewer reasons to celebrate holidays and special events. In fact, it is quite the contrary. There is no better way to show your appreciation for our assisted living residents than by magnifying the attention shown to yet another year or one more Christmas. At the Bee Hive Homes of Meridian, Idaho these special occasions are something that are celebrated throughout the year. It is yet another reason to bring the Bee Hive family together for some celebration and excitement.

What does it mean to a resident who has lived through so much throughout their lifetime to have yet another opportunity to welcome in another year? The assisted living staff at Bee Hive Homes are trained to understand the impact that this can have on the happiness and end of life care for the residents they serve. However, you will quickly find that it is not the training or a job that makes these caregivers celebrate with the residents. It is simply the love that they have for one another that brings them together for this occasion and honestly, any occasion that may give them another reason to have fun.

Bee Hive Homes assisted living is dedicated to making our residents happy. It has been our focus from that beginning that residents need more one-on-one time with caregivers so their individual care needs can be meant. You may have heard us say it before but care in not a one-size fits all idea. Care is and always will be the focus of what we strive for at Bee Hive Homes. We welcome you to tour any of our Bee Hive Homes assisted living facilities. We have over 140 homes across the country and we would certainly love to show you the Bee Hive Homes assisted living difference.

Bee Hive Homes of Star assisted living has officially opened the doors. This fabulous assisted living home is set in the quiet community of Star, Idaho. Owner Joe White brings a wonderful staff with a focus on providing a very high quality of personal assisted living care to the community of Star. Twayne Walker, Owner of Bee Hive Homes says, “Just because you are from a small community does not mean there should be less demand set on providing superior elderly care options. To many times the smaller community means fewer options, which often times means a lesser quality list of options as well.”

Star, Idaho is about 15 miles outside the city of Boise, Idaho and a neighbor to the larger communities of Meridian and Eagle. Assisted living options in Star, Idaho often need to include facilities that are actually in these neighboring communities. We have solved this problem by bringing Bee Hive Homes assisted living care to Star, Idaho. Bee Hive Homes offers assisted living services to residents throughout the country. Our services are focused around serving individuals and not large groups. Mr. Walker states, “We honestly feel that care is not one size fits all. Care must be tailored to meet the needs of the person you are serving.” Bee Hive Homes has highlighted this approach to care in a new video series we call Redefining Care.

With the opening of the Bee Hive Homes of Star, residents in this area will be provided with an option for a very high level of personal care service. Our home is a 16 bedroom home which allow for our staff to truly get to know and love the residents on a very personal level. We take pride in the fact that we are a family. We care for one another like family, play as a family, share as a family, and live as a family. If you have more questions or would like information on the Bee Hive Homes of Star please contact us now.

Just down the road from Salt Lake City, Utah you will find the wonderful little community of Draper, Utah. Draper is home to one of Bee Hive Homes newest assisted living homes. Owners Stan and Michelle Ketcher have worked very hard to make sure that Bee Hive Homes of Draper assisted living is not just another assisted living facility. In fact they have honestly created a true family atmosphere with all of their residents.

Bee Hive Homes of Draper has been a labor of love—meant to be the home of Lois Ketcher, the mother of Stan Ketcher. The family highly anticipated her becoming the first resident. Lois passed away March 7, 2010 just weeks before the opening. “That was the founding purpose behind Bee Hive Homes of Draper,” Ketcher says. “To offer homes to moms and dads, grandmas and grandpas.” The home has certainly turned into something special here in the Draper community.

“Of the over 140 Bee Hive Homes, this home has one of the best care staffs of any of them”, says Dennis Toland, owner of Bee Hive Homes. ”Every person plays such a vital role in creating an environment like this and they have done such a wonderful job in Draper.” Connie Sperry, our Care Director, was named the Bee Hive Homes of America Caregiver of the Year. Connie is an incredibly patient, warm, and loving “mom” to our home. She is supported by an outstanding group of caregiver, cooks, and friends for the Bee Hive residents. These residents who are lucky enough to call Bee Hive Homes of Draper home sure appreciate all of the hard work and focus that goes into making Bee Hive Homes of Draper assisted living, “The next best place to home”.

If you would like more information on Bee Hive Homes of Draper or the Bee Hive Homes care model please call 801-449-9062.

Bee Hive Homes of Leitchfield, KY assisted living has officially opened their doors. Owners, John and Mary Nell Bouvier are very excited about this announcement and for the residents of Leitchfield to have the assisted living services offered by Bee Hive Homes right there in their wonderful community. At the same time we are very pleased to be able to contribute to the business community in this area and we are certain that the city of Leitchfield will feel the commitment from Bee Hive Homes to provide a very high standard of care to the residents who call us home.

Bee Hive Homes assisted living in deeply committed to raising the bar for the care services offered to those in need. For over 25 years Bee Hive Homes has been offering assisted living care across the country. Bee Hive Homes assisted living services are now offered in over 140 homes and you can find our caregivers stretched across the entire country. Bee Hive puts a focus on keeping our staff to resident ratios low. In an industry where often 1 staff member is charged for caring for over 20 residents, Bee Hive believes “true care” can only take place on a more personal level. Staff members must know those for whom they care for on a personal level. In order to know someone that well you have to spend time with them, a lot of quality time. The Bee Hive Homes assisted living model allows this to happen.

We could not be happier to be accepted into the Leitchfield community and trusted with taking care of the residents in this area. We would like to extend and invitation to anyone who would like to tour the new Bee Hive Homes of Leitchfield assisted living home. Please feel free to contact us and schedule a personal home tour. We look forward to hearing from you.

Bee Hive Homes of Naples, Utah assisted living has officially opened their doors. Owners Guy & Dee Collett own and operate 2 Bee Hive Homes in Vernal, Utah and are very excited to open this home in neighboring Naples. The new Bee Hive assisted living home in Naples is certainly going to increase the ability for the Collett’s to provide quality assisted living care to more people in the area. Bee Hive Homes has been in operation in the Vernal area and has been a very positive member of the business community in addition to providing exceptional care. With the addition of another home in Naples we believe that Bee Hive Homes will continue to reinforce the importance of a high level of assisted living care in this community.

Bee Hive Homes assisted living care is focused on personalizing the care for each of its residents. Our care is centered around the idea that smaller facilities, with a lower staff to resident ratio, allow for more personal care. This is in contrast to many large facilities that seem to sell their amenities first. At Bee Hive Homes we have directed our focus on the individual resident and their personal care needs. This focus on residents has worked for over 25 years and is now available in over 140 Bee Hive Homes assisted living homes across the country.

We would like to invite anyone interested in receiving more information about the Bee Hive Homes of Naples assisted living home to come on out to our home. Our doors are always open and you will always receive a warm welcome when you walk in the door. You can also contact us via the phone by calling 435-767-9185 or filling out a contact form on our website. We look forward to hearing from you or seeing you at our new home.

What Are You Looking At?

The opportunity to tour an assisted living home and evaluate the home is an event that should not be taken lightly. In fact, you should come to the home tour very well prepared for those things that your are looking for in a new assisted living home. However, do you even know what you are looking for? To many times this event creates more questions than answers. This is primarily due to the fact that those touring an assisted living facility are not truly sure what they are looking for in a home. We understand, you may be doing this for the first time and you may be looking for others to educate you about assisted living and the services provided.

Let’s make touring an assisted living home easy for you. Start by erasing everything you thought was important about an assisted living home from your mind. Lets start with a blank page and truly think about what you are looking for in an assisted living home. Do you really care about the culture stone that greets you as you approach the front door? Do you care about the tile flooring in the entry way? Or the fabulous chandelier that adorns the dining room? Lets be honest, the tour started when you were greeted at the entry by a well dressed employee. Were you greeted? Was the employee well dressed? Now we are getting somewhere.

Hopefully you can see where we are going with this. When you tour an assisted living home you are not touring the home at all. You are touring the people that make up the home. Of course there are structural things that will be important to us, but only after we find out if the environment is filled with loving and caring people. As you walk through the home take the time to visit with those who know the home best, the residents. Take the time to ask questions about the residents that fill the home. If your tour guide (employee) does not seem to know the residents very well this should throw up a few red flags. However, if the staff know the residents well they will share stories and information that will reflect a level of care that you are looking for. At the same time, pay attention to the relationships that exist between not only staff and residents but the residents themselves. Are they sharing conversation together and sharing in activities together or are they secluded in their rooms and living alone?

Touring an assisted living home is not really that hard. Just remember to go on a tour of the staff and residents and save the questions about the bedrooms, meals, and bathroom configuration until you are happy with the people. After all, bad food can be fixed, bad people may be a little be tougher to live with.
