What is Assisted Living?
WHAT IS BEE HIVE ASSISTED LIVING?
Bee Hive Assisted living is almost exactly what it sounds like. Assisted living care offers residents that independence and freedom in a home like environment with the care and support of qualified caregivers always there to assist when needed. Bee Hive Assisted living homes , like many other homes, are designed to provide residents with assistance with basic ADLs (activities of daily living) such as dressing, bathing, grooming, laundry services, food preparation, and much more. However, Bee Hive Homes is unique in the fact that we have focused on reducing the staff to resident ratios in our homes to provide a higher level of personal service. Bee Hive Assisted living homes are not nursing homes and it should be noted that Bee Hive assisted living homes do not provide skilled nursing care services.
WHO NEEDS BEE HIVE ASSISTED LIVING?
In most cases, a Bee Hive resident is usually a senior who requires some assistance performing one or more activities of daily living (ADLs), usually due to a decline in health. Additionally we also care for many seniors who would like an increased level of social interaction while receiving help those responsibilities which have grown more difficult to perform. All of our residents will receive additional confidence and comfort in knowing that a qualified caregiver is just around the corner removing that fear of being alone in a time of need.
THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN INDEPENDENT LIVING, ASSISTED LIVING, AND NURSING HOMES
Independent living is considered a level of care that precedes assisted living care. In most cased independent living communities are communities offered to seniors over the age of 55. Within these communities there are often times activities planned for the community residence that promote and encourage active lifestyles. At the same time the members of these communities need very little assistance with activities of daily living.
Nursing homes for those residents who require “around the clock” care. This is a much higher level of care and assistance than those who typically reside at an assisted living home. Nursing homes provide 24 hour skilled nursing care.
