The Story of BeeHive Homes

BeeHive assisted living all began in 1987 when Twayne Walker built the first assisted living home in Meridian, Idaho.  In response to a very limited number of quality care facilities, Twayne originally built the first BeeHive Homes assisted living home as a means to provide his grandmother with quality care in a personalized, home-like surrounding.

This innovative format was developed around the concept that the elderly deserve a clean, comfortable family setting at an affordable price when they reach that point in life when assisted living care is needed.  Many facilities available at that time not only failed to provide a pleasant atmosphere but required rates that were out of reach for the majority of the elderly and their families.  It didn’t take long to realize that many were searching for elderly care services similar to those being offered by BeeHive Homes.  During the construction phase of the first BeeHive assisted living home, potential residents showed so much interest that several of them were ready to move in as soon as it was completed.

With a focus on smaller facilities designed to resemble residential homes, the BeeHive Homes model is unique.  Dennis Toland recognized the void the BeeHive Homes assisted living homes could fill, and he partnered with Twayne to promote the finest quality care environment available.  BeeHive Homes is dedicated to making the move to assisted living seamless and comfortable for its residents.

The level of interest for exceptional elderly care has continued unabated, and the demand is stronger than ever.  We invite you to tour any of our BeeHive Homes assisted living homes.
