A diagnosis of Alzheimer's or dementia changes everything for a family. The questions come fast — about safety, about daily care, about what the future looks like. And underneath all of it is one question that matters more than any other: will my loved one still be treated like a person?
At BeeHive Homes of Arrowhead, the answer is yes. Every single day.
Our home is licensed as an Assisted Living Center–Directed, which means we are specifically equipped and trained to support residents living with memory loss at every stage. But a license is just a starting point. What sets our memory care apart is the size of our home and the people inside it.
With just 22 residents, our caregiving team doesn't rotate through dozens of faces each shift. They know your loved one — their history, their habits, what calms them, what brings them joy. That kind of knowledge isn't a luxury in memory care. It's the foundation of everything.

Memory care at BeeHive Homes of Arrowhead is built around structure, familiarity, and dignity. Our approach recognizes that every resident is different — and that their needs will change over time.
Every resident receives a thorough assessment when they join our family, and our team continues evaluating on a regular basis. As memory loss progresses, care plans are adjusted — not reactively, but proactively, in close coordination with families and physicians.
Predictability is powerful for residents living with dementia. Our days follow a consistent rhythm — meals at the same time, familiar activities, trusted faces — that helps reduce confusion, anxiety, and agitation. Within that structure, there's always room for individual preferences and personality.
We don't believe in parking residents in front of a television. Our life enrichment activities are designed to stimulate cognitive function, encourage social connection, and bring genuine moments of joy. Music, sensory activities, simple crafts, reminiscence exercises, and community visits — including our friends at Christ's Church of the Valley — give each day purpose.
Our home features a fully secured building with modern monitoring technology and a nurse call system. The secure outdoor courtyard gives memory care residents safe access to fresh air, sunlight, and a change of scenery — without the risks that come with an unsecured environment.
In a small home, staff turnover and rotation are minimized. Our caregivers are trained specifically in dementia care techniques — including de-escalation, redirection, and patient communication. More importantly, they build real relationships with the residents they care for. Consistency of caregivers is one of the most important — and most overlooked — factors in quality memory care.
Every memory care resident receives the full spectrum of support in a setting that feels safe, familiar, and genuinely homelike.
For a resident living with Alzheimer's or dementia, environment isn't just a backdrop — it's part of the care. Large facilities with long corridors, unfamiliar faces, and institutional noise can increase confusion, agitation, and fear. A small, residential home does the opposite.
At BeeHive Homes of Arrowhead, residents wake up in the same room, see the same faces, eat in the same dining area, and follow the same comforting rhythm — day after day. The home is quiet. The spaces are warm. The caregivers are familiar. That consistency isn't a nice-to-have. For someone living with memory loss, it's essential.
Our home is also located in a quiet residential neighborhood in Glendale's Arrowhead corridor, minutes from Abrazo Arrowhead Campus and Banner Thunderbird Medical Center. When medical needs arise, families can count on proximity to excellent resources.
The decision to move a family member into memory care is deeply personal — and rarely easy. It often comes after months or years of managing at home, watching someone you love change, and wondering when "enough help" becomes "not enough."
If you're unsure, that's okay. We welcome families at every stage of the decision-making process. A tour of our home, an honest conversation, and a complimentary care assessment can help you understand your options — with no pressure and no obligation. Give us a call at (602) 717-1864 if you feel we can help.
Choosing memory care for someone you love is one of the most difficult decisions a family can face. We understand that, and we're here to help — with honest answers, a home you can see for yourself, and a team that genuinely cares about what comes next for your family.
